Direct sales is all about building relationships! ( face to face ) These Businesses can be profitable .. but they do take work! You have to research various companies to find the one that is best for you. ( Look for a Business that you are passionate about, or one that is low risk & low overhead. ) 1. I think it is important to LOVE the products you sell or the services you provide. The Product is one part of owning your own Businesses ... the other side is the Business Opportunity it offers to those who may want to join your team. 2. Finding a Product, Service or Company that you are PASSIONATE about. Being enthusiastic about a product/ service can me contagious ... others want to know more or jump on board to have the same experience. Passion allows you to SHARE not SELL!! 3. What does it cost to join? 4. Monthly minimums. What kind of personal sales volume is required? 5. Compensation Plan. Each direct sales plan is different, and it's important to look over the fine print. What is the commission rate and how is it paid? How are you awarded for recruiting others? How does the company handle breakaways? 6. Control. How much control do you have over the way you build and promote your business? Ask to see the company "rule book" before signing on. 7. Support. What kind of support networks are in place? How involved in the business is your up line? (Is your up line able to answer the questions in this article, for example?) How quickly does he/she return phone calls and emails? 8. Advertising. What kind of advertising and promotion does the company deem acceptable? Most companies have rules for the way their logo and trademarks are represented, both online and off. 9. Accessibility. Does the company offer exclusive products? Also, take a look at the level of saturation in your particular market. A newer company that offers quality products may hold a lot of promise in your particular industry. 10. E-commerce. Does the company have an e-commerce option? Many direct sales companies are now offering replicated websites so each representative can promote an individual online presence. A few direct sales companies even have shopping carts alongside these websites so you can make sales online, too, with the product dropshipped from the home office. Take your time researching your options. When you have found the company that's right for you, you'll know it.

Setting goals for 2014 ... setting them in 2014 isn't the best time to start.. it should have been something started month ago. But perhaps better late then never. My Scentsy Business has definitely taken a back seat. I seem to run into many Scentsy consultants who report that they have dropped out. Why?? Not getting customers interested in hosting parties, Difficult to get into a craft / trade show, difficult to find people interested in the Business opportunity ... how do you sell the Business Opportunity when the Business is not thriving for you. What is the failure ... the Business or the Business Owner. I LOVE the products Scentsy Offers ... I am a very happy customer ... I want to be a very happy Business Owner. Time to set some goals and give my Business some time and a chance to grow. If you don't feed it .. it will die !! Goal number one: Spend 3 days a week learning about Scentsy Products & Business. Scentsy Corporate office has provided a massive amount of information & training material for consultants. I will also make time to learn from others .. those that have been successful in Multi Level Marketing. I KNOW FROM FIRST HAND .. I LOVE THE PRODUCTS SO MUCH THAT I WANT EVERYONE TO EXPERIENCE IT. If I was not a consultant ... I would continue to share this with others. So ... I have one of the main ingredients already and making my business a success .. I LOVE THE PRODUCTS, I LOVE THE COMPANY. Scentsy really does sell it self once you have a product experience .. THAT IS THE Problem .. getting people to have the product experience .. AND NOT LET COST BE AN ISSUE. I think the cost for the products are fair. I have found too often people at trade events .. LOVE THE PRODUCTS .. but do not want to pay ... every body wants things for nothing ... CHEAP. Scentsy IS AFFORDABLE to all income levels. You can not put a price on the experience that you can have with the products. Scentsy is far more than just having your home, office smell nice. You are creating such a wonderful place that is inviting .. evokes memories. Time to figure out a way to share my passion for this Business and product. Time to feed my Business and see if I can make it grow. WISH ME LUCK !! AND FEEL FREE TO SHARE YOUR STORY AND ADVICE.

The end of 2013 should be a time of reflection ... and to be used to start the New Year on a positive & successful path. If you do not take the time to look back at what you did well and where you need to improve or refocus ... then you may continue to travel in the same direction. Which may or may not be what you want. If you have not done so yet ... reflect and plan your route for 2014. Are you driving the vehicle or are you just a passenger??? Where are you right now?? Where do you want to go in 2014?? How are you going to get there?? Start with a small goal that is achievable to move you in the direction you desire, and as hurdles come up .. look at your route and reposition as needed. REMEMBER ... SEEK HELP .. You do not have to do this alone .. find a mentor and ask for support .. advice along the way. WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS FOR 2014?? What do you need to achieve them?

I went to a seminar last night ( Colin Sprake )_ MYM Make Your Mark thought I journal some key points: Networking, Going to seminars etc.. Meeting QUALITY people make your Business. Learning & Retaining Business keys : Your Business should have a SYSTEM & You should be Focused. THOUGHTS control your ACTION If you believe ( THOUGHTS ) that December ( for example ) is a slow month .. no productivity. Then it will be. If you What to make December or any month more successful .. then get creative. What can you do to make each month productive .. what can I do to make it better than last year. " NO SUCH THING AS A QUIET MONTH ... JUST A QUIET MINDSET " Be creative, think outside the box and plan ahead !! Set weekly, monthly, quarterly goals for your Business and personal life. What are you going to do differently this year than you did last year. CHANGE = DIFFERENT RESULTS. You have to WORK your Business. Success doesn't just fall into your lap, you have to make it happen. What are the problems .. and find solutions. It takes creativity to make money !! Start looking for solutions. MAKE 2014 YOUR BEST YEAR EVER!! VISION : Where are you going to be at the end of 2014?? Scentsy is a sensory product, which means it needs to be SEEN & SMELLED for it to Sell. This means as a Bunisess, it is our job as Consultants to brand ourselves and introduce everyone we meet to Scentsy. We certainly do have something for the entire family. In order to introduce people to Scetnsy .. you really have to get out and about. Host a Basket or Home Party, Fundraisers, Craft Events, Give samples away .... do on line Parties. Be creative. Join various Meet up or Networking Groups. It's not always easy, and we often have to break out of our own comfort levels, but as a Scentsy Customers as well as Scentsy Consultant, just share your own stories. Why you love the products & the Business. How and where you use Scentsy. Your love and passion for Scentsy will shine thru and you will find it easy once you just speak from the heart. Your not trying to sell any one anything .. you are just sharing your experience and that alone, will make people what to have their own experience with Scentsy as well ... You are just the vehicle to get them there. Every ounce of effort and hard work gets you closer to the main goal. Secret of survival is to embrace change, and to adapt. " All things fall and are built again, and those who build them again are happy. by W.B Yeats 2012 is coming to an end, this is the perfect time to reflect on your Business and see where you are, what have you done in 2012 that worked or didn't work. Look at your successes, and failures. What can you do to make 2013 better. Are you willing to do the work and adapt to changes required to keep your Business moving forward or will you PERISH?? We have heard it time and again .. but have not actually sat down to apply this: GOAL SETTING! Make just a few goals between now and Dec 31. Make sure your goals are realistic. Set a schedule of what actions need to happen, and a time line by when? Once you have completed these items, and achieved the goal, on time .. you will feel empowered to continue the proces .. EXPANDING your goals and reaching further from your grasp knowing that you will make the necessary steps to accomplish them.

Customer Service is very important, I not only am thrilled with introducing a Wonderful Product to a new customer .. I am excited for that customer to try my products and pray that they love the items just as much as I do .. or if possible, even more. Next I am hoping that my new customers will remember me, the next time they are having to purchase a gift .. shop thru me first, aside from the wide variety of products Scentsy offers .. but I am convenient .. no more trying to figure out: What to Buy? Lack of parking stalls at the mall, traffic, over-priced items etc.. Not only do I carry inventory that you will love, I will deliver it to you as well! Great customer service plus great products = Repeat Customer, Referals, Possible Recruit to build my team, and more importantly a Happy Customer who loves the products I provide. Along with all of that ... you build loyalty. I love that I have customers that only buy thru me, make sure to never let an existing customer feel that they are not valued or important because they have already purchased, and may have enough product to last a while .. they are important, and like to know that when or if a new items comes up, that you thought of them to share it with them .. or send them a free sample as a little gift to say you are thinking about them .. or make it personal ... I know you love the smell of Sandlewood, this is a new scent hat just came out and thought you might enjoy it. Finding NEW Customers is extremely important to your Business .. but don't forget your Core Customer Base!
